We are leading portrait specialists who will create some beautiful images for you and with our relaxed informal style you are assured of a highly enjoyable experience.

The golden rule is keep it simple. Avoid strong bright colours and patterns, soft pastel colours are always good. Remember not to use more then three predominant colours. It is also important that the style is consistent so do not mix evening wear and day wear or very smart with very casual.

Decide on a theme and stick to it. Denim looks good in casual portraits. White clothing can look very effective but remember darket tones are always more flattering for the more weight conscious amoungst us!

Ladies

Avoid tight fitting or uncomfortable outfits, choose something that you like yourself in and that your family and friends have told you that you look nice in. Remember to check how it looks when you are both standing and seated. Long sleeve dresses or blouses are ideal. For best results make-up should be applied as for the evening but keeping the foundation as a matt finish and remember that darker stockings or tights look better than paler ones.

Gentlemen

A suit and tie with a light colour shirt will do nicely for formal portraits. Long sleeves are much better than short sleeves. For a more casual style it is still advisable to wear a shirt with some form of colar rather than t-shirts. Trainers should not be worn as they tend to exaggerate the feet.

Children

Please on no account should you warn your children to behave themselves either before or during the sitting. This only puts them under added pressure and precludes us from capturing their true personality. We are expert in encouraging children to enjoy themselves, do not practice smiles or say "cheese" etc. Real smiles are always more acceptable and easily achieved.

General

Should anyone in your family be particularly worried about any aspect of the sitting, please let us know in private either before or at the sitting. There are many techniques we can use to ease or indeed eliminate various problems.
